L'article examine la reaction a Lima, de l'economie nationale a la solution alternative choisie, ainsi que les consequences sur le niveau de vie des plus pauvres. En 1985-1986, la famille moyenne a subi une baisse de pouvoir d'achat de 50 %, les plus pauvres ont le plus souffert, de telle sorte qu'en 1990 il leur etait impossible de resserrer l'ecart de nouveau. Neanmoins, la sante et l'education n'ont pas connu de semblables revers (REGARDS-CNRS-DF)..
